Mitchelstown GAA Notes
Mitchelstown. O O6
Knocknagree. 2. 15
Mitchelstown travelled to Knocknagree last Sunday morning to play the hosts in our 3rd outing of the Division 4 Intermediate league with the game having an early throw in at 11am. The pitch was in very good condition but there was a strong breeze blowing right across the field.
Mitchelstown played with the wind in the opening half and in the opening 15 min they matched Knocknagree with the score 3 points a piece then on the 18th min while on the attack Mitchelstown were turned over in possession quiet easily and Knocknagree punished them with a well taken goal . Knocknagree led at half time 1 06 to 0 5.
At the start of the 2nd half Knocknagree rattled over 3 quick points in the opening 10 min and when Mitchelstown conceded a similar goal to the first , the game was over as a contest and Knocknagree cruised through the last 15 min to take the points.
It was a very disappointing display by Mitchelstown and a lot of work has to be done before they play Aghabullogue in the opening round of the Championship. It was easy to see last Sunday why Knocknagree are strong favorites to win the County.
