While we came up short in our latest encounter with Kanturk yesterday, we congratulate our Intermediate panel & management on a year that brought us many highlights and performances that gave us great pride in following the team throughout their Championship campaign.
There can only be one winner in any competition but the way in which the management prepared the team & the manner in which the entire panel applied themselves to the task ensures that we are ready & good enough for the premier grade & I'm certain that we will achieve that goal in the coming years.
Everyone involved will undoubtedly look at yesterday's game & indeed look back on the other seven championship games of '17 & feel that there were things learned from every round & that with further hard work as well as a willingness to improve our chances further by means of an even bigger commitment,we will return to next year's Championship with an even more insatiable desire to win the IFC. A tough task but definately an achievable one. Thanks lads.
Another high point of the year was seeing our Under 9 footballers take part in two mini games during the half time interval in yesterday's final.
It was great to see their efforts on the pitch & hopefully this will be the first of many occasions that these players will grace a pitch on Co. Final day.
Well done to the Juvenile Club & the players parents in helping to make great memories for these young boys.
Finally, thanks to everyone who attended the game yesterday as the support we enjoyed was phenomenal. It was great to have received such warm well wishes & generous support in the run up to this final & Mitchelstown G.A.A. really appreciate this support.
Go Raibh Mile Maith Agaibh.
