With the divisional & county leagues now well & truly underway, both our Junior & Intermediate teams find themselves on the road this weekend.

Our Juniors are first up with a trip to play Kilshannig tomorrow for a 3.30pm start in the Cavanagh's of Fermoy Div.2 FL.

Then, on Sunday , our Intermediates have a long day as we travel to Castletownbere in our second Co. Div.4 FL game of 2019 having beaten Ballydesmond last week.

CTB have started well with wins over Bantry & Gabriel Rangers & will be looking to take advantage of the effects of 'town's long trip to the Beara peninsula.

With Clubs & player's concern's around issues regarding the scheduling of games having now been addressed by the County Board with new incentives , including a new points system & a planned programme of games with dates , venues etc ratified well in advance , it should now give players some certainty of when they are needed by their Clubs.

While the Board are hoping to use the new points system as an incentive to play their games according to the published fixtures, they have also introduced stiffer protocol for postponing games & heavy sanctions for not playing games.

These changes should all go towards helping Clubs & players to plan ahead but obviously there needs to be buy in from everyone. Let's hope town are ready for that test & bring strong panels to Glantane & Castletownbere this weekend.
